Kim Kardashian’s shapewear line SKIMS has been commissioned as the new official undergarment partner for the US Olympics team. Kardashian revealed in an Instagram post on Monday that she was invited by Team USA to design official undergarments for them at the Olympics, at where pieces will include not only undergarments, but pajamas and loungewear as well for the US athletes competing at the Tokyo Olympics.
Kardashian has a personal connection to the Olympics, as her former stepparent, Caitlyn Jenner is Olympic gold medalist.
Since inception, SKIMS has been of Kardashian’s most profitable endeavors, with the brand seeing a 1.6 billion dollar valuation this year. The brand has also added retail partners, including Harrods and Nordstrom.
Meanwhile, five Team USA athletes modeled the official garments in Kardashian's announcement: the USWNT's Alex Morgan, 400-meter hurdler Dalilah Muhammad, WNBA star A'ja Wilson, long-distance swimmer Haley Anderson and Paralympic sprinter Scout Bassett.
"I’m so proud to be part of this campaign that celebrates female athletes," Wilson said in her own Instagram post. "I’m lovin' the sleepwear collection SKIMS designed specially for Team USA!

However, Kardashian said the brand will release the items that athletes are wearing in Tokyo as a capsule collection on its website beginning July 12. SKIMS joins Team USA's longtime partners Nike and Ralph Lauren as official clothing providers for the Tokyo Olympics.
"SKIMS’ shared mission and values of empowerment and inclusivity made the brand the perfect fit for Team USA," said Peter Zeytoonjian, senior vice president of consumer products at U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Properties, in a statement.
