1. Graphic Designing

This is employed by harnessing free hand sketching and computer-aided designs to curate individual images that are designed on clothes. With restriction to just eight (8) colors, graphic designers often use creativity to make a feasible design.
Primarily, they develop designs in CAD programs, but some do start drawing by hand before transferring to the CAD software.

2. Fashion Designing

A strong sense of creativity is highly required by someone of this line to design new and trendy styles for their target clients. Being into high-end fashion designing requires stream of creativity to churn out innovative and original designs. Often times, their inspiration for fashion disposition stems from previous runway shows and seasonal trends in a bid to design highly marketable styles for their clients. It is noteworthy to assess the economics of most fashion designers working preferably on streets where there is large production of clothing. 3. Textile Designing

Development-Related Careers

This is composed of group of professionals saddled with the responsibility of ensuring there is a good standard for the value of clothing production service being rendered to clients.

1. Technical Designing

This profession is into fitting the garments on their arrival from the factory and making a revision on the measurement and patterns in a bid to make a topnotch quality and well-fitting garment. The technical designer is regarded as the garment engineer and the liaison officer between the design and product development teams.

2. Quality Assurance (QA)

This is employed to ensure there is checkpoints throughout the production line to review the quality. Also, a QA personnel have a final quality inspection following the completion of the garment. Basically, a QA personnel is saddled with the responsibility of ensuring garment quality standards are maintained throughout production.

3. Product Developing

This entails ensuring all materials and final garment meet the brand’s set quality standards. The product developer is charged with handling cost and timeline negotiations with the factory. Primarily, they are the brand’s point of contact with the factory with trusting in their skills to choose appropriate factories for respective clothing production.

Sales-Related Careers

This is the transactional face of the fashion company dealing directly with clients. Also, they can be referred to as the financial arm of the fashion company, because this is where sales of the garments are made either in retail or wholesale.

1. Sales Associate

Persons here are the first point of contact with customers as they enter the store. They make awareness if there is an ongoing promotional sale and provide best service to customers in terms of items, style, and size. Primarily, sales associate entails completing transactions and restocking merchandise.

2. Stylist

Personal stylists in most cases work with clients to help them choose elegant styles that perfectly suits their body type and budget. They are often charged with creating outfits and giving tips on how to wear an article of clothing. A brand’s stylist in most cases creates outfits for photo shoots to show clients on how to wear their clothes and accessories.

3. Retail Buying

This is employed at analyzing buying patterns, forecast trend for target market, and developing plans to maintain inventory levels. Retail buyers work in retail or departmental stores, and they choose the merchandise assortment which is available for customers to surf through. However, they take market demands, style trends, price, and quality into good consideration when selecting products to sell.
