African Print Bow Ties

African Print Bow Ties

A bow tie can be described as a form of necktie. This primarily consists of a ribbon of a fabric symmetrically tied to the collar of a shirt, such that the two opposite ends form loops. There are three (3) types of bow ties; the pre-tied bow ties (type of tie in which the distinctive bow is sewn onto a band that goes around the neck and clips to fasten); the clip on bow ties (type of tie that dispense with the band altogether, instead clipping straight to the collar); and the self tie (consisting of a strip of cloth which the wearer has to tie by hand, also called freestyle bow tie).

However, African prints are today making statements in the world of fashion through different dressing styles to stay afloat in the business and lifestyle. Having an African outfit (boubou, grand boubou, pagne, dashiki, kaftan, etc) are not enough without imitating some Western styles to be cultured in an African way. Hence, this is the essence of bow ties being styled in African prints to be representative of Africa heritage.
